Maplestory: The 5th Job Key Features

After nearly a decade wait, Maplestory finally releases its class-wide 5th Job Advancement update.

Come December 15, Nexon will be releasing the “V” update — or as they put it, the game’s “largest update in nearly a decade.”

The title V is in honor of the fact that update will introduce the game’s fifth job advancement. This advancement is class-wide and will empowers players to boost beyond their limitations to reach maximum potential and become a hero of Maple legend with new abilities, equipment and high-end content.

Players will need to be on top of their game too, as there will be whole new areas for high level characters to explore. The update also includes three new areas, each with unique strings, and an all new boss named Lucid: Master of the Nightmares, which Nexon is billing as the “most difficult boss in Maple history”.

Players will also be able to participate in MapleStory’s limited-time training program starting on the 30th of November, which offers numerous advantages:

Mega Burning Project: New characters get a 2-for-1 level boost up to level 130 and helpful gifts along the way.

Breakthrough V Event: Once a character reaches level 140, he will continue to receive prizes for each tenth level reached. The ultimate prize awaits at level 200, allowing players to get the experience they need to get the fifth job.

Nexon has announced that 5th job will start in GMS November 30th!

The 5th Job Key Features that are coming:

  • New power skills for each class
  • Damage cap removed
  • New matrix system to buff and combine skills for more character customization
  • Large new 200+ areas
  • Lower Exp requirement to get to level 200
  • New user interface

MapleStory: New 5th Job Skills Will Be Introduced A Week Later

Are you ready to take your character into the next level?

MapleStory, the free-to-play, 2D, side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game, has released the much-anticipated 5th Job Advancement that will entirely change the gameplay of MapleStory. The patch will be available for download on 16 November 2016 and it will be live on 23 November 2016.

The 5th Job Advancement promises to break down boundaries, bridge new connections and boldly change the way players experience the game. New 5th Job skills will be introduced to all 39 characters a week later on 23 November, opening up endless play possibilities, with countless permutations and combinations for players to create the perfect game strategy.

For the very first time in the game’s history, the damage cap limit will be removed. In addition, the levelling curve from level 60 to level 200 has also been altered. This means that the experience that players require for levelling up will be significantly reduced, allowing them to quickly level up to gain special skills and strength, and making it easier to reach the 200th level required to unlock the 5th Job.

Commenting on the new patch, Quang, Managing Director at Asiasoft, one of the biggest publishers of MapleStory SEA, says, “We are extremely excited to roll out the 5th Job Advancement which players have been waiting for, for almost ten years. With a new boss, Lucid, a new continent, Arcane River, a new area, Chew Chew Island, and various revamps, the game-changing patch is definitely worth the wait. The new patch demonstrates MapleStory’s commitment to creating unique gameplay experience for every player.”

As one of the biggest games in the region, MapleStory has a wide base of active players in Malaysia and Singapore, MapleStory is ranked even higher than the most talked about games that exist today. Players are encouraged to download the patch when it is released on the 16 November 2016, in preparation for the 5th job Advancement when it goes live on 23 November 2016.

Maplestory: Considering Future 5th Job Skills

What skill do you want or expect to come in the future for your class? What could add something good to your class that reflect some of it’s playstyle?

A veteran gamer wish the producers could add maybe a new passive in the future and a active for each class:

For Marksmans:

I tought a passive like the old times that gave em 90%mastery(after all you are a class o precision), also maybe a skill that slow down enimes like ashs basic attack in LOL(a worst slower than your 2job one), would help in enimies, or maybe some knock-back?(like corsair/cannoer and with cool down)

Maybe they could change our 5job skill to a buff that change your passive to get more damage in close rang, 15% to 100%, would be better maybe? i’m not really sure)

For Buccaneers:

I tought on maybe some buff or a passive that active when you transform, and change your octopunch similar to how shade’s one was before the seal on BlackMage, where he could punch in large distances and multiple enimes.

And also add somethin to the 5job like: your skills, when charged cost halve the cost of charge when transformed with the 5job skill, would be much more viable for buccs.

For Corsairs:

Maybe make passive so your summons(the ships) could change direction to the boss/mob that you focused on with your egg skill, would let them get some extra damage on it.

Well some classes i don’t know what could go(like bishop), since they got already a lot of changes that ”complete” the class

Well maybe with new skills they could add a quest so you could get a new slot for 5job skills, like you can get one in 215, 230 and 245(or just 230 since the new map will problably be 230+), a quest where you would farm some stuff(mob/drops) and maybe even afk for some time.

Afterwise, there are some other opinions should considered:

If anyone remembers the Warring States Manifesto skill you get from Sengoku High, I want to see that skill on a Hayato without the cooldown. Reminds me of Band of Thieves. My Hayato would be complete, then I wouldn’t have to whine about nexon killing my Chief Bandit/Shadower.

Well NL already have a double throw, triple throw, quadruple throw, and with hyper skills a quintuple throw. And since we know how much Nexon loves the word “Sex” in their game, the next obvious step is to skip it and just give NL Septuple throw, which would also be affected by the hyper skill granting an extra star, for an informal Octople throw.

Only logical move by Nexon really.

I’d like to see that awesome Zero skill that was never released that had alpha and beta making a giant tornado.

Thanksgiving!

Turkeys are starting to appear near Henesys, Mu Lung, Leafre, and other major towns! If you hunt these birds, you can find all sorts of fun items. To begin, accept the ‘Thanksgiving’ quest from the star event notifier on the left side of the screen. Then start hunting! These turkeys have been stuffed with lots of great rewards. Dress up in the spirit of the season with a Pilgrim Hat or Maplehontas equip. Restore needed HP and MP with delicious Thanksgiving food including Roasted Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, and Corn. You may even get your hands on a Roasted Relaxer Chair, a Special Potential Scroll, or a Special Bonus Potential Scroll!

Food Fighter

Young magician Bianca has accidentally turned the Thanksgiving dinner into living monsters! Join the Food Fight to help her catch the delicious creatures. To begin, accept the ‘[Food Fight] Revolting Food’ quest from the star event notifier on the left side of the screen. You can enter the Food Fight Hall up to three times a day. Once inside, you have twenty minutes to complete all thirty stages, and the tasty monsters get tougher the further you go! The rewards differ depending on how many stages you clear. See how far you can get and earn Drop Coupons and useful buffs!

Turkey Egg Hunt

NPC Cody wants you to find him some Turkey Eggs! Luckily, there are Turkeys appearing in certain locations in Maple World including Henesys, Magatia, Leafre and more. Turkeys drop three different colors of eggs depending on your level range. Talk to Cody to see what kind of Turkey Egg he expects you to find. Then go hunt some monsters and start collecting those eggs! You can turn in your eggs to Cody for special rewards, which differ depending on which color egg you turn in! You can earn delicious restorative items, Potential Stamps and Scrolls, a Turkey Pet, a Nebulite Box, and more!

Other Changes: The Maplestory World Merge And Service Migration

As we mentioned last article, Nexon America will begin to service European MapleStory players in addition to existing players around the world from On November 10th.

For current Global MapleStory players, you will now have the choice to create new characters on the Europe world, Luna. These new worlds are located in our European datacenter, you may find your connection to these servers better or worse than the current North America servers. You will also be able to interact with a new population of players migrating from the European MapleStory service.

For the European players migrating over, there’s quite a few exciting changes for them. Let’s go in depth on some of the additional changes below.

Other additional changes as a result of the world merge and service migration include:

  • The amount of character slots you will have in Luna will be the higher value of either character slots or characters created in either Kradia or Demethos.
  • If the total number of characters in both worlds exceed the maximum amount (40), all of your characters will transfer to Luna. If you delete characters that are over the maximum amount, no character slots will be freed until you delete characters below the maximum amount.
  • The amount of Storage slots you will have in Luna will be the higher value of either the number of items in the Storage or the number of Storage slots in either Kradia or Demethos.
  • Character Card settings will be maintained if you’ve only set it up in 1 of the worlds. If you have set up character cards in both worlds, your settings will be reset.
  • Quests that shared between both worlds, will keep the data of the furthest progression.
  • Burning character settings will be reset.
  • Cash Shop settings such as Cart Inventory will be reset.
  • Cash Shop items that are tradeable as a result of using Avatar Scissors of Karma on it, will be reset to untradeable.
  • Your community data such as Friends list, Blacklist, Guilds, and wedding information will be reset.
  • Your Monster Life progression will be reset.
  • Macro settings will be reset.
  • Any rewards you still haven’t accepted from the Reward System notifier on the left of the screen, will be lost.
  • Following the merge, support for restoration of characters will be extremely limited.
  • All Cash Item gifts will be adjusted so that the sender’s name is “Gift”
  • In-game rankings such as Mu Lung Dojo, Donation King, and Tower of Oz will be reset.
  • Friendship and wedding rings will be deleted.

Although there is data that unfortunately will be reset as a result of the migration, the official plan to compensate players for the loss and reward our loyal players for sticking with us as we complete this migration process. Details for these rewards will be revealed soon.

In addition to the worlds merging, you will also be able to create brand new characters on our North America servers. Although this will technically be available, they strongly urge everyone to choose the server closest to their location to get the best gameplay experience. Players will also be able to interact with a wider community on newly relaunched forums as well as on their social sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Twitch.

This migration has been in discussion and planning for a long time and many teams around the world have worked tirelessly to ensure the process is as smooth as possible. Having said that, we know there may be some unforeseen issues that arise as a result of these changes. A large project like this will always have a few kinks even after launch. But the producers are committed to making sure your experience is as smooth as possible, so they will work hard to resolve issues as fast as we can.

Maplestory Main Changes: World Merge And Service Migration

Hours ago, Maplestory Official released a Maple Memo, and we will share the mainly content below.

On November 10th, Nexon America will begin to service our European MapleStory players in addition to our existing players around the world. This migration brings a lot of benefits to all of our players and we want to make sure you understand what is happening and why.

For current Global MapleStory players, you will now have the choice to create new characters on the Europe world, Luna. These new worlds are located in our European datacenter so depending on your location, you may find your connection to these servers better or worse than the current North America servers. You will also be able to interact with a new population of players migrating from the European MapleStory service.

There’s quite a few exciting changes for European players migrating over. Here are main changes to this migration:

Immediately following the migration, you will be prompted to download the full v177 client that will provide you access to all the latest GMS content, including Heroes of Maple, Mushroom Shrine Tales, and the recently released Strange Stories content. With this migration, European players will now experience all of the current and future events occurring in Global MapleStory. Please make sure to accept both the service migration and the MapleStory game migration in order to begin playing on November 10th. If you miss your chance now or wait until after November 9th to migrate, you’ll have to wait for an upcoming maintenance in order to access the MapleStory world in Europe.

Next, the existing Demethos and Kradia worlds in Europe MapleStory will merge into one world, Luna. Previously, we planned to migrate the two worlds over, so we asked our European players from each server to vote for their new world names. But after further discussion internally, we decided to combine the two worlds to provide our Europe MapleStory players with a larger population to play with immediately following the migration. Out of all the votes between the two servers, the name Luna received the most.

In addition, other changes as a result of the world merge and service migration will shared to another page. Stay tuned!
